Client Challenges

As FHL expanded its footprint, managing operations across two distinct geographic entities became an operational bottleneck. The company relied on six isolated, standalone systems to track its full supply chain, introducing high operational risks:

• Siloed Inventory & Production: While the South Korean factory utilized a basic local ERP for inventory tracking, critical Material Requirements Planning (MRP) calculations were performed entirely on manual Excel spreadsheets.

• Manual Cross-Border Purchases & Sales: Purchase orders, sales outbounds, CRM data, and order follow-up logistics were logged on disconnected forms, requiring manual data re-entry across entities.

• Complex Cost Accounting: Determining the exact cost of manufacturing was delayed by manual Excel-based financial calculations.

• Perishable Product Risks: Because hyaluronic acid products mandate strict batch number and expiration date management, relying on disconnected tracking sheets caused major visibility gaps.

The Cost of Inefficiencies:

When the product lines were limited, staff could rely on memory. However, as order volumes grew, data fragmentation crippled full-chain efficiency. It took a grueling 7-day lead time just to confirm order delivery schedules to clients. Worse, because data verification was slow, the team would frequently discover packaging material shortages only at the exact moment of shipment, leading to delivery delays, broken fulfillment promises, and damaged customer experiences.

To eliminate operational friction, Boyang implemented a comprehensive, localized cross-border ERP solution leveraging Odoo 17 Enterprise.

1. Multi-Company Automation & Intercompany Rules

We activated Odoo’s advanced multi-company mode to establish automated, real-time business processes between the Hong Kong sales office and the South Korean factory:

• Automated Order Triggering: When the Hong Kong entity logs a customer Sales Order (SO), Odoo automatically generates a matching Purchase Order (PO) to the South Korean factory.

• Intercompany Document Syncing: The Hong Kong PO instantaneously populates as a Sales Order within the South Korean factory’s dashboard, immediately prompting a Manufacturing Order (MO).

• Fulfillment Automation: The moment the South Korean factory processes a shipment, Odoo triggers a corresponding purchase receipt for Hong Kong and automates the final customer outbound delivery documentation.

2. Advanced Manufacturing (MRP) & Real-Time Cost Management

We deployed Odoo’s robust Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) modules to overcome volatile raw material and metal costs:

• Batch-Level Financial Visibility: Odoo tracks raw material consumption, actual labor, and manufacturing overhead in real-time.

• Automated Cost Settling: Financial personnel no longer calculate batch margins manually. Odoo registers exact material use and actual working hours per batch automatically.

3. Strict Expiration Date & Batch Management

Hyaluronic acid requires rigorous shelf-life control. Odoo’s automated inventory module tracks real-time lot numbers, ensuring that zero expired inventory reaches customers and shelf-lives are systematically visible to the sales force.

4. Integrated E-Commerce Website & Professional SEO

The company’s front-end digital marketing was integrated directly with back-end inventory. We built out their web store with tailored Odoo Website SEO optimization, creating an interconnected flow from search engine visibility to digital check-out.

5. Localized South Korean Finance Compliance

To bridge international compliance gaps, Boyang structured an automated chart of accounts tailored to South Korea’s strict regulatory standards. We engineered a custom financial API interface that seamlessly exports tax declaration datasets directly into South Korea’s national tax reporting authority systems.
